Electrical Work
It means any labor or material used in installing altering, maintaining or extending an electrical wiring system and the appurtenances, apparatus, or equipment used in connection with the use of electrical energy in, on, outside, or attached to a building, residence, structure, property, or premises. The term includes service entrance conductors as defined by the National Electrical Code.

Plumbing Work
The plumbing and sanitary system is an essential part of every house or bulliting Proper planning and designing of plumbing system is crucial as it takes care of the hygiene requirements of the occupants it has been reported that about 8 per cent of the construction cost of a building is marked forplumbing and sanitary work. A plumber’s job role consists of installation, repait, maintenance and servicing of plumbing things and futures. Besides having a thorough understanding of the mechanisms required for performing various tasks, a plumber should be laborious, have effective communication skills and be a result-oriented worker with a positive attitude.
Role of Plumbing
As you may be aware, water is supplied to a house or a bulliding from storage tanks through pipes. Similarly, the waste water from kitchen and washrooms is drained out with the help of pibes. Any building, be it a residential commercial or industrial, cannot function property without having plumbing and sanitary arrangements in place it is therefore, important to have regular and adequate water supply and a proper system for the disposal of waste water Plumbing cycle refers to a mechanion through which water is taken from a source Then supplied to the user, and nally waste water is collected and recycled to the source after pri treatment.
Fiber Optics
Or optical Fiber, refers to the medium and the technology associated with the transmission of information as light pulses along a glass or plastic strand or Fiber. Fiber optics is used long-distance and high-performance data networking Fiber optics are also commonly used in telecommunication services such as internet, television and telephones. As an example, companies such as Verizon and Google use Fiber optics in their Verizon FIOS and Google Fiber services, providing gigabit internet speeds to
users.
Fiber optic cables are used since they hold a number of advantages over copper cables, such as higher bandwidth and transmit speeds.
A fiber optic cable can contain a varying number of these glass fibers from a few up to a couple hundred. Surrounding the glass fiber core is another glass layer called cladding, A Layer known as a buffer tube protects the cladding, and a jacket layer acts as the final protective layer for the individual strand.
Any fiber installation project is a major undertaking Responsibility for the oversight of everything from detailed implementation plans to community relations, ensuring sufficient materials are ordered in a timely manner to safety and environmental concerns, means an intense amount of pre-work and ongoing coordination for the life of a project.
Armed with this in information, a meticulous build plan (productivity for day, week month, etc.) can be developed and the contractor can now ensure that the necessary equipment and resources are in place Procedures and processes can now also be developed and put into place to ensure that the contemplated civil build is done to standards and executed within budget and timelines.
Pre-Build Procedures
As an unfaltering believer in a pre-build survey: The verification of details contained in pre-build drawings, will emure that potential problem areas are uncovered before the contemplated work kicks-off and potentially save one a lot of trouble later. Using the information available on the pre-build drawings, walk the pegged out route by foot, to determine the following:
-Verify the soil classiffications by digging a pilot hole every km (hard, intermediate, soft)
-If the sails or soil properties are not what were expected as noted in the contract, the client must immediately be consulted
-Check and verify above and below ground utility locations Note changes in gradient and/or direction
-Identify all obvious Landmarks where the route changes direction (takephotos)
-Take photos of all obstacles along the route
-Verify HH/MH positions
-Note road/rail crossings
-Record crossings with other services
-Record the presence of structures near the trench
-Double-check the recorded details on the return journey
Fire Fighting
A fire fighting system is probably the most important of the building services, as its aim is to protect human life and property, strictly in that order. It consists of three basic parts:
A large store of water in tanks, either underground or on top of the building, called fire storage tanks, a specialised pumping system, a large network of pipes ending in either hydrants or sprinklers (nearly all buildings require both of these systems).
When you design a fire fighting system, remember the following:
Underground tanks: water must flow from the municipal supply first to the fire fighting tanks and then to the domestic water tanks. This is to prevent stagnation in the water. The overfkow from the fire fighting to the domestic tanks must be at the top, so that the fire fighting tanks remain full at all times. Normally, the fire fighting water should be segregated into two tanks, so that if one is cleaned there is some water in the other tank should a fire occur.
It is also possible to have a system in which the fire fighting and the domestic water are in a common tank. In this case, the outlets to the fire pumps are located at the bottom of the tank and the outlets to the domestic pumps must be located at a sufficient height from the tank floor to ensure that the full quantity of water required for fire fighting purposes is never drained away by the domestic pumps. The connection between the two tanks is through the suction header, a large diameter pipe that connects the all the fire pumps in the pump room. Therefore there is no need to provide any sleeve in the common wall between the two fire fighting tanks .
The connection from each tank to the suction header should be placed in a sump; if the connection is placed say 300mm above the tank bottom without a sump, then a 300mm high pool of water will remain in the tank, meaning that the entire volume of the tank water will not be useable, to which the Fire Officer will object. Ideally the bottom of the fire fighting pump room should be about Im below the bottom of the tank. This arrangement ensures positive suction for the pumps, meaning that they will always have some water in them. All pump rooms should without fail have an arrangement for floor drainage, pumps always leak. The best way to do this is to slope the floor towards a sump, and install a de-watering pump if the water cannot flow out by gravity.
In cases where there is an extreme shortage of space, one may use submersible pumps for fire fighting. This will eliminate the need for a fire fighting pump room. Create a special shaft for wet risers next to each staircase. About 800 x 1500 mm should suffice. It is better to provide this on the main landing rather than the mid landing, as the hoses will reach further onto the floor.
Milling & Paving
Milling asphalt is an environmentally friendly and very cost effective way to repair asphalt. Although appearing by sight and touch to be tough, asphalt can quickly wear down due to traffic, weather, and sunlight. The milling process consists of using a miting machine.
Backfilling
In construction, backfilling is the
process of replacing or reusing the soit that is removed during building
construction to strengthen and support a structure’s foundation or any otherstructural member.
Excavation
There are different types of soilexcavation tools and machines used in construction. Excavation of soil is necessary in construction point of view and it should be done by hand tools or machineries based on the.
